The Handbook for P&C Associations provides valuable information to local P&C's in terms of the required constitution and the by-laws governing the running of P&C associations. The Handbook also contains information assisting local P&C's is the conduct of their meetings, management of their financial matters, the operation of subcommittees and a range of other matters of importance to the effective running of a P&C association.

In addition the Handbook contains the constitution, by-laws and policy of the Federation of Parents and Citizens' Associations of NSW. This information is published so as to allow local P&C associations the opportunity to review, comment and recommend changes through the process of the Federations annual conference.

Two copies of the Handbook, one printed copy and on a compact disk (CD) are provided free of charge to affiliated P&C associations. Additional copies are available for a small charge from the Federations office.

The Canteen Manual provided valuable information to those P&C associations that operate their school canteens. The Manual focuses on the management, including financial requirements, associated with effective canteen operations. In particular it clearly outlines the P&C's responsibilities for financial accountability, canteen insurance and the establishment and operation of a canteen subcommittee.

In addition it outlines the responsibilities of the P&C association where the P&C is an employer of paid canteen staff.

The Canteen Manual is available for purchase from the Federations office.

The Parent and Citizen journal publishes a range of articles relevant to P&C's and school education. In addition to providing important information to local associations the journal also aims to promote the excellent work undertaken by local schools and P&C associations. P&C associations are encouraged to submit articles that promote the efforts undertaken at their school.

Four editions of the journal are provided to affiliated P&C associations as part of their affiliation fee. Other organisations or individuals can subscribe to the publication by contacting the Federation office.

In order to assist local P&C associations in promoting themselves within their local communities the Federation has produced the Join Your P&C brochure. This brochure highlights the importance of parent involvement at school and within the P&C movement. Many schools now use the brochure as a valuable introduction to parents when their children first start school.

The brochure is available in English, Arabic, Chinese, Korean, Spanish, Turkish and Vietnamese. It is also available in a black and white format so as to allow schools to photocopy additional copies. Copies of the brochure are available from the Federations office for the cost of postage.
