Message from the CEO
1 year agoThis week, I had the privilege of standing alongside teachers, principals, students, and staff in public education to represent NSW parents in calling for full funding of our public schools.
On Wednesday, we were joined by Deputy Premier Prue Car on the lawns of Parliament House, advocating for the Australian Government to ensure every public school receives the funding it needs. It was an important moment in our ongoing efforts to secure the resources that students and schools deserve.
I want to extend my thanks to the representatives from the AEU, NSW Teachers Federation, NSW Primary Principals’ Association, NSW Secondary Principals Council, and NSW Aboriginal Education Consultancy Group, as well as the students, teachers, and advocates who travelled to Canberra to make their voices heard.
Every day, P&C Associations share with me the challenges their schools face due to underfunding. Whether it’s fundraising to update old textbooks, provide shade for playgrounds, or equip classrooms with computers, these efforts highlight the gaps in school funding that parents are left to fill.
As we urge the government to take action, I want to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of our teachers, principals, support staff, and politicians who are committed to public education. We’re all in this together, and we’re calling on the government to join us in our commitment to providing the best possible education for every student in NSW.
Let’s work together to create a brighter future for our public schools and for the kids who attend them. We owe it to our kids and parent communities to make the necessary pushes needed to secure a sound public education landscape.
