Message from the CEO
9 months agoAs Term 1 draws closer to the end, it is remarkable to reflect on how much has happened in the school year already. In our school communities, in the broader education landscape, and now amidst a federal election, parents and P&Cs have accomplished so much. I hear from many of you about the challenges and priorities you’re juggling, and I have been reminded recently of the great value of the wider P&C community in NSW. Creating space for P&Cs to connect, share ideas, and support each other is more important than ever.
One of those spaces is our new P&C Q&A – a monthly member forum. This is an initiative we have launched this year to give P&Cs a chance to ask questions, discuss challenges and engage directly with our Member Services team. Already, these sessions have shown just how much P&Cs can gain from each other, not just in practical solutions but in encouragement and shared experience. When P&Cs connect, ideas spark, momentum builds and people feel more supported in the work they do.
CEO’s Message
These forums have also been a reminder that the role of a P&C isn’t just measured by our output, but it’s also about how we engage with our communities. The ways in which we show up as role models to include others, work through challenges and selflessly give. P&C Associations play a vital role in setting the tone in their schools, demonstrating commitment, collaboration, and patience. I know that it not always easy, especially at this stage of the term, but it makes a huge difference.
I have personally been encouraged to see the wider community in action this term, engaging not only with each other but the broader education landscape. I truly believe that when P&Cs connect, we have limitless power to enrich our public schools with our diverse experience, knowledge and creativity. I hope you will take a moment to reflect on the part you play in public education – whether that’s by sharing your story at our next P&C Q&A or simply taking a moment to reflect on the values you model. We are all part of a network of P&Cs across NSW, and there is so much strength in learning from each other.
