Message from the CEO
10 months agoAs we approach the middle of the year, we’re also coming up to membership renewal time – an important part of the admin calendar for all P&C Associations.
Both your membership with the Federation and your insurance coverage expire at the end of July.
While there are still a few weeks to go, we’ve already started preparing in the office. You’ll soon receive communications from our insurance provider, Andrews Insurance, with everything you need to know about renewing your cover.
We know many P&C Presidents are new to their roles, and this may be your first time leading your association through the renewal period, so I wanted to offer some early advice to help you feel ready.
- The first step is simply being aware of the renewal period – which you now are.
- The second step is to consider what your P&C Association needs insurance for. Every association is different – you might run a canteen or uniform shop, organise activities or classes involving children, handle significant amounts of money, or take on other responsibilities. While your P&C Federation membership includes public liability insurance, it’s a good idea to talk with your office-bearers, subcommittees and volunteers to make sure you’ve covered all your bases.
- The third step is to check that your details with us are up to date. We know office bearers change, and email accounts don’t always get handed over. As you prepare to renew your membership and insurance, take a moment to log in to our website and confirm your contact details.
While you’re there, you can also access a wide range of resources and fact sheets and other useful information. One of the central roles of the Federation is to help public school communities to thrive, which we do by supporting each association the best we can in the work that you are doing. Our online resources are there to do just that.
So, keep an eye out for renewal information in the coming weeks, and if you have any questions that our resources can’t answer, as always, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
