Fee relief for families with children in preschool
3 years ago
Starting in 2023, the NSW Government will be providing fee relief for families with children attending a preschool program.
Families with 3-5 year old children in community, mobile and NSW Department of Education preschools
- If your child is eligible and enrolled at a participating community or mobile preschool, fee relief funding will reduce your fees by up to $4,220 per year.
- Families will be provided the equivalent of 5 days per fortnight of affordable preschool for all children in Department of Education preschools.
Families with 4 and 5-year-old preschoolers in long day care
- Preschool fee relief is being introduced for 4 and 5-year-old children in long day care for the first time in 2023.
- Families will save up to $2,110 a year for 4-5-year-old children in eligible preschool programs in long day care.
This is in addition to – and will not impact – your Child Care Subsidy payments provided by the Australian Government.
How to access the fee relief
Families must complete a declaration form and nominate one service from which they would like to receive the fee relief. Talk to your service provider today or visit the Department of Education website for more information, including a flyer, and the declaration form.
