More than Two Million Health Professionals and Parents back government Vaping reform
2 years ago
The P&C Federation and the Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand have come together to back the Federal Government vaping prescription legislation.
Quote attributable to P&C Federation President Yvonne Hilsz:
“As we see growing concerns among parents, carers, and educators regarding the rise of e[1]cigarette use among students, our focus must remain steadfast on the well-being of our children. It’s disheartening to see the impact of vaping in schools, not just on individual health but also on our collective mission to nurture a conducive learning environment,”
Quote attributable to TSANZ CEO Vincent So:
“The Reforms Bill is the support today’s youth need, stopping the addiction cycle in its track before it’s too late. Passing this legislation is common sense. Once implemented, the prescription-only model will allow Australian parents to rest assured knowing that their children are safe from the harms of e-cigarettes.”
The P&C Federation is committed to a free public education system which is inclusive of all, irrespective of culture, gender, academic ability and socio-economic status. Parents, as partners in the education process, have a right and a responsibility to play an active role in the education of their children. We support nearly 2,000 P&C Associations across NSW, represent the voice of parents and work to help public school communities to thrive.
