President’s Message
2 months agoAs we begin this new year together, I want to extend my warmest welcome to each of you. Whether you’re a long-standing member or joining us for the first time, your voice matters, and your participation strengthens our entire community.
Last year brought some important wins. We hosted our Annual Conference in November with the theme “Participate and Communicate” which brought P&C Associations from across NSW together with free tickets for the first time.
We celebrated outstanding volunteers and principals through our Annual Awards. We championed Public Education Week in August, showcasing the incredible work happening in schools across the state. And we continued our advocacy for full and fair funding for public schools.
But I believe we can do more. This year, I’m committed to driving meaningful change that genuinely serves our members and strengthens public education. That starts with listening to you: your ideas, your concerns, your experiences of what’s actually working and where the gaps are. What does your P&C need to thrive? Where are you struggling? What would make a real difference in your school community?
Your feedback isn’t just welcomed; it’s essential. Every member brings perspectives shaped by on-the-ground realities, and when we create space for all voices to be heard, respected, and celebrated, we can build solutions that actually work.I’m committed to transparency in how we make decisions, accessibility when you need support, and accountability in delivering real outcomes, not just good intentions.
Our upcoming Annual General Meeting will be a critical opportunity to come together, take stock honestly, and chart a course forward that reflects your priorities. Details will be shared soon. Real change happens when members engage.
I’m honoured to serve as your president and determined to make this a year of meaningful progress. Our Federation is strongest when every member feels valued, heard, and empowered to contribute.
Thank you for your dedication to our schools, our children, and our communities.
With appreciation and determination,
Kaitlin Serrano
