Invitation to Comment: Inquiry into Disruption in Australian School Classrooms

There is currently a Federal Senate inquiry into disruption in Australian school classrooms, conducted by the Senate Education and Employment Committee. Submissions are due on Friday, 31 March 2023. More information on this inquiry is available at this link.

The P&C Federation will make a submission to this inquiry, and we are keen to hear from parents on their experiences and perceptions of disruption in school classrooms. The comments we receive from parents will help shape our submission.

If you want to submit your comments to the P&C Federation, please send them to mail@pandc.org.au by Friday, 17 March 2023, 5:00 pm AEDT.

Although you are free tell us anything you think is relevant, we are especially interested to know parents’ thoughts on the following topics:

  1. Your perception of the level of disruption in your children’s school classrooms.
  2. If you believe the level of disruption has improved or worsened since your children started.
  3. If you think the level of disruption has impacted the results of your children or students at the school generally.
  4. What your thoughts are on current behaviour management policies, including if and how they can be improved.

Your comments will be treated in the strictest confidence, and we will not disclose your identity or school without your permission.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact the P&C Federation on 1300 885 982 or mail@pandc.org.au
